Alex Smyth is a mixed Japanese-Canadian artist who creates vibrant and playful illustration, animation, design, and ceramic work. She draws inspiration from Japanese design and culture, themes of joy, rest, and connection, and an appreciation for everyday life/objects.


Originally from San Diego, California, she currently resides in Vancouver, Canada, where she graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Media Studies. 

She is the creator and organizer of

Playground Pop-up, an art community/market space for local artists in Vancouver.


She loves good essays and bad doodles.
